Ace of Pentacles
I can be a reluctant writer and blogger even though I have consistently blogged for ten years at The Perpetual Pilgrim. When I get started, I enjoy the writing, but it is starting that is the problem. I can think of a million other things to do first. But I know the way forward for me is writing and I have been working to lower the barriers that keep me from opening the computer. I was thrilled when I picked the Ace of Pentacles because it means I am losing some of my resistance and opportunities are in my path. For me that showed up as a friend who could help with my photos, the right information I need to market my blog and moving my writing materials from a cold room to a nice basket near my warm couch. Not bolts of lightning from the sky but subtle nudges from the everyday world that moves me in the right direction.
Ace of Pentacles is activity, and time is right for concrete steps. Put the pens and paper on the desk, set out the project to start, order the material needed, make the phone call---do what it takes to get started. Ace of Pentacles is the first step in a practical, grounded approach for your goal. The circumstances that will help you will rise to meet you and encourage the next step. This is the sign that the time is right and a new path is opening.
The large yellow pentacle is gently resting in a shining right hand, the hand of gifting. Pentacles represent earth, grounded and practical. In the foreground is a garden of lilies representing purified thoughts and of red rose bushes for desires. The worn path leads through an arch with the mountains of attainment in the distance. It is time to leave this garden where you have cultivated your wishes and ambition and start the path to make them real. The giving hand is bestowing a blessing and wishing well you on your journey.
Spiritual work not only takes you to the lofty heights of the Hermit’s mountain top but the everyday world and the magic that surrounds us here and now. There is no greater source of that earth-magic than nature and even a few minutes of focused attention on the beauty around us can go a long way to breathing in the magic to fuel our desires. It only takes a minute to view the moon in an array of stages from crescent to full. A new flower or fallen leaf can be a spark for a smile. A gentle breeze or blustery wind remind us of the living, moving world. Let time in nature ground you and bring that sparkle of magic into an ordinary moment that fuels your next step on the path of your desire.
What is an actionable step you can take today to make your dreams real? Where can you see the new opportunities showing up in your life? Where can you notice prosperity and abundance that you can use in your daily life? I’m taking the encouragement of the Ace of Pentacles to recognize that the time is right to take my next steps in writing and blogging. Those mountains are calling me to leave the safety of my cozy garden and find out what is beyond the garden gate.
